“The 3Rs – Where are We and What’s Next?”

The DSTF annual meeting 2026 takes place on Monday and Tuesday November 16-17 2026 at the beautiful Sandbjerg Manor near Sønderborg. The meeting is open for all interested both members and non-members.
The topic of the Annual Meeting 2026 is: “The 3Rs – Where are We and What’s Next: From historical and ethical perspectives to optimised study designs and current case stories and trends”
Explore the journey of guiding principles for the ethical use of animals in scientific research, how the history of laboratory animals have progressed, and hear about some new ethical perspectives and optimised study designs. Gain behind-the-scenes insight into current case stories and trends. Whether you’re an experienced researcher or just starting your career, you’ll gain insights and valuable connections. Network, learn, and discover how science turns into treatment.
Early Career Session
On day 1 (Monday November 16), we will have an early career session with oral and poster presentations. Abstracts on all pharmacological and toxicological topics are welcome, and early career presentations are not constrained to this year’s meeting topic.
We invite all young researchers (master students, PhD students and postdocs) to submit an abstract. The participation in the meeting is free for young researchers submitting an abstract to the Early Career Session
Awards will be given to the best oral presentation and the best poster.
Price
The registration to the Annual meeting includes the scientific program and accommodation.
The accommodation for the annual meeting consist of your own room, refreshments throughout the two days and meals (lunch and dinner the first day, breakfast and lunch the second day).
The registration deadline is September 14, 2026.

Transport to Sandbjerg Manor
Car
Sandbjerg Manor address: Sandbjergvej 102, 6400 Sønderborg
Train
It is possible to reach Sønderborg by train from all parts of Denmark. There are 6 km from Sønderborg Railway Station to Sandbjerg Estate.
DSTF will arrange transport from Sønderborg train station to the venue in connection with the trains arriving from København/Odense and Aarhus on November 16, and return on November 17. Remember to sign up for the transport in connection with your registration. The time points for the bus connection will be announced as soon as the train timetable is available.
Flight
There are several return flights every day from Copenhagen to Sønderborg. Remember to book in time – the flight might soon be fully booked. From Kastrup airport to Sandbjerg Estate there are 60 min including taxi (order the taxi to be at airport).
